Merced County Republican Central Committee
The Merced County Republican Central Committee, also known as the Merced County Republican Party, is a group of like minded individuals who share a common goal of promoting Conservative and Republican principles across the county of Merced.
Although disagreements may occur, we base our efforts on the Constitution and preserving it as written.
The Merced County Republican Party supports the American Dream and aims to elect those who promote the freedom for families and children to achieve that dream.
As Conservatives, we believe if you teach your American morals and values you will naturally build strong communities, strong states and make America great again. Building a prosperous America all begins with Americans uniting together, with pride, friendship, and a shared goal to put Merced County First. Welcome to Merced County!
Merced County is a county located in the northern San Joaquin Valley of California’s great Central Valley. It is about an hour north of Fresno just south of Modesto and Turlock and southeast of San Francisco. As of the 2010 census, the population of the county was 255,793. The county seat is the City of Merced. Merced county and Merced was named after the Merced River.
Merced County includes the cities of Merced, Atwater, Livingston, Hilmar on the Eastern side of the county. To the West is Dos Palos, Los Banos and Gustine. The City of Atwater includes Castle Air Museum which is jointly owned by Merced County, Atwater and the City of Merced. Castle Air Museum houses over 60 military aircraft from World War II, Vietnam War, Cold War and also displays Air Force One. Air Force One served Presidents’ Ford, Carter, Reagan, H.W. Bush, Clinton and George W. Bush.
The economy of Merced County is a vibrant growing economy. Merced County's chief export is our agriculture industry. Merced County grows 90% of California’s sweet potato crop, due in part to the efforts of John Buttencourt Avila, called The father of the sweet potato industry.”
Celebrities who have called Merced County their home include Janet Leigh (actress) born July 6, 1927 in Merced, Bernard Berrian (NFL) and Sheryl Underwood (A host from the “The Talk” TV show).
A notable Republican elected includes Mayor Paul Creighton of Atwater. Mayor Creighton is best known for proclaiming Atwater as a Business Sanctuary City during the COVID-19 Lockdowns and meeting President Trump at the White House.
